diy | drawer credenza

Several years ago I salvaged some oversized drawers from a linen closet in a home that I remodeled.  These drawers have been moved around from room to room looking for an end use.  They sat in my living room for the last several month and this weekend I finally tackled them.   I added Ikea Capita legs to the back panel of each drawer and stood them on end.  Both drawers had received a coat of a blue-grey paint and the interiors were left the original dark wood stain.  One drawer is placed open end facing the living room and contains a bit of my book collection [and on trend I've placed the spines to the rear, possible in my opinion with this small collection].  The other drawer has it's bottom panel facing the living room and conceals my stereo and speakers.  I drilled 1/2" holes where the speakers are located so the sound is not muffled [plus, I love the graphic of the holes].  Very happy with the end result.

  7. I made the opening with an old wire hanger - large enough to put a bulb through. THen I took some grosgrain ribbon and stitched it to the wire circle. It's makes a nice finished look! Thanks for this DIY - love it!
