In every house/apartment/hole-in-the-wall I've ever lived, I've always worked with accent walls in dark charcoals, blues and blacks. To me, it's both modern and graphic and ... me. See below.
In my current apartment, I've worked with all white walls, something I love, but the more and more I see images like the ones below, the more I want a dark wall somewhere in my apartment. Somewhere. Stay tuned. [Images below from Aesthetic Outburst, Dwell, Green is the New Black].
I love charcoal - it's amazing how such a dark colour can still feel warm. Can't wait to see what you do!
ReplyDeleteOoh all these pictures make me happy too...i'm painting my brother's room this weekend with one dark wall ...BM iron mountain. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it works out!
ReplyDeleteI'm doing all the east/west walls on my main floor in Farrow & Balls Railings. The North/South running walls are Blackened.
ReplyDeleteEveryone loves the black when they come in and so do we...but I'm wanting MORE. So far only the dining room will be all dark.
I'd love a smallish condo I could do all black.
I adore all the fun things that can be done with dark walls. I'll be curious to discover if I'm that daring -- just need to own a home first.
